Kid Sense Occupational Therapy is focused on helping children to overcome developmental challenges in movement, play and learning.
Occupational Therapy helps children develop their abilities in table top skills (pencil skills, colouring, drawing, writing, scissor skills), whole body skills (running, jumping, hopping, skipping, table posture), sensory processing (which aids attention, behaviour and learning) and self management (getting ready for life; dressing, toileting, eating, sleeping, general organization and planning). Different skills are required at different ages and stages of education.
Occupational Therapy addresses the functional skills that are required across environments: while the actual ‘therapy’ occurs in the clinic and home setting, our Occupational Therapy team works closely with parents, teachers and other care-givers to implement strategies to help skill develop in child care, kindergarten and school environments.
