Kid Sense Psychology

Kid Sense Psychology is focused on helping children to overcome developmental challenges in emotion and thought processes, learning and behaviour.

Child Psychology helps children develop their ability to cope with daily stressors (stress, anxiety, anger), to cope with extreme stressors (family separation, grief), to detect and manage hiccups in their learning/educational environment (learning difficulties, social difficulties and friendship challenges) be that in the home, child care, kindergarten or school setting and to develop and control behaviour that is appropriate to a situation.

Psychology works closely with children, their parents and teachers to develop strategies to help the child with their challenges in a way that can be modelled and supported by the adults in their world.

Psychology also considers how other factors can contribute to learning and behaviour challenges, such as language issues requiring Speech Therapy or sensory processing requiring Occupational Therapy.

The Kid Sense Psychology team focuses on the mind and behaviour of children from prenatal development through adolescence, offering developmental and educational psychology services for children aged from birth to 18. Support for these children’s parents and carers is also paramount and an important part of the service.
