Appointment Times
Kid Sense operates from 12.30pm to 5.00pm on Mondays and from 8.15am to 5.15pm, Tuesday through Friday.
Assessment
An assessment allows an effective assessment of the foundations or pre-requisite skills that make skill performance possible. Accurate identification of these underlying skill deficits allows therapists to tailor their intervention (treatment strategies) to the specific areas of concern, which then allows more rapid progress with less effort.
Assessment involves a series of tasks and/or games (age dependent) designed to assess or observe the areas of your concern. Where possible, task will be undertaken that can be assessed against the performance of similarly aged peers (standardized assessment tools).
Assessment Options
In order to make assessment available to all, Kid Sense offers a variety of assessment options so that you can chose the one that best meets your needs.
This means that you can choose to:
- assess only one area of concern without being charged for areas not important to you
- undertake a 45 min assessment, and determine after this (based upon mutual discussion with the therapist) if a further assessment session is required for your specific needs.
- not pay for a written report if this is not important to you.
Treatment
Treatment to overcome the identified issues can begin immediately after the assessment, based upon the assessment findings. Where the child has been has been assessed or been undergoing treatment by another practitioner within the last 12 months (documentation provided), treatment can commence immediately without needing to undergo an assessment.
Treatment Options
In order to make treatment available to all, Kid Sense offers two treatment options so that you can chose the one that best meets your needs.
This means that you can choose to:
- Book only single (casual sessions) as you need them.
- Block booking (block of 4 sessions) where you receive a discount for upfront payment of the block. There is no time frame in which these session needs to be used.
Cancellation Policy
Before 5pm the day preceding the scheduled appointment, appointments can be rescheduled without incurring any fee. Cancellation after 5 pm the business day before the scheduled appointment, or failure to attend on the day of the appointment, will result in a cancellation fee (the full cost of the session).
In order to help you avoid a cancellation fee, an appointment schedule will be provided at the time of booking the appointment and a courtesy reminder SMS will be sent to your mobile phone the day before the scheduled appointment.
